Brushy Mountain Game Land

Blue Ridge Conservancy (BRC) and Foothills Conservancy of NC (FCNC) are partnering to create a new NC Wildlife Resources Commission game land in the Brushy Mountains of Wilkes/Alexander County. Portions of the property scored a 6 out of 10 in the NC Natural Heritage Program’s Biodiversity and Wildlife Habitat Assessment, and Brussels Creek and Unnamed Tributaries of Hunting Creek on the property are classified as Water Supply III by the NC Division of Water Resources. BRC and FCNC see this area as the next great opportunity to conserve biodiversity and create public lands.
