Shenandoah Valley Conservancy Capacity Building

SVC is collaborating with The Nature Conservancy and NRCS for federal land protection funding for wildlife habitat conservation and farmland conservation, but current capacity is hindering the ability to leverage that funding. Adding a land protection manager and/or community engagement/advancement manager to their five-person team would enable full leverage of this land protection funding. The land protection position would work directly with available federal funding to protect more land, and the community engagement/advancement manager would help to develop a broader base of private funding from supporters within the Shenandoah Valley and Virginia to sustain increased capacity.
