Cahaba River Tributary Restoration & Trail Expansion

A desired parcel of land adjacent to FLT’s popular canoe launch and walking trails at Grants Mill Road in Irondale, Alabama contains a significantly eroded and incised tributary depositing harmful amounts of sediment into the Cahaba River. To open this land for public recreation FLT plans to excavate a new channel, using the extracted soil to stabilize the existing tributary, making the topography smooth enough to construct walking trails throughout the property.
